ALPHA MARE

ALPHA MARE is a new choreographic work exploring practices of mourning in the nonhuman animal world and interspecies connection. Research and creation for this project began at Villkule Farm, an artist residency and working farm in rural Nebraska. Immersed in the natural environment, the work investigates themes of longing, animal death and mourning practices, and the porous boundaries between human and animal, body and ecology. This research has laid the groundwork for a new creation that is still in development, one that continues to find its legs.
